Madness?  Well......you gotta be mad to want to come out in the cold and crap to a hang gliding meeting, right?  So madness it is.

Friday, March 7th at 7pm the Hays Hacienda will be hosting the spring MHGA meeting.  We're going to celebrate our Irish heritage by serving corn beef, roasted potatoes and cabbage and yes....even green beer!

As usual ( weather permitting ) we'll fire up the fire-pit and show some videos of flying. Anybody got some new stuff?  I'll try and find the Hyner drag races video so we can horrify the newbies. We'll touch on club and flight topics  ( if desired ) so come with your questions.  Embezzler Bob will be there taking orders for memberships and we'll have those "vintage" tees for sale at 5.00 per shirt.  These classics are suitable for wearing, framing or wrapping fish.

Come hungry. Bring stuff if ya' wanna.  And....for the hot tub enthusiasts...bring some swimwear and a towel.  Or dunk your wanna-be Irish arse al-natural if you please.

Dear MHGA Member;

It is time for 2008 renewal for membership with the Maryland Hang Gliding Association. Your support is greatly appreciated.  Your generosity thru membership supports the local flying sites such as High Rock, Oregon Ridge, The Pulpit and many more.

Flying in the Mid-Atlantic area is at a crossroads.  Traditional forms of hang gliding are giving way to commercially run operations a.k.a. flight parks whose primary focus is towing.  This leaves less focus on our mountain sites, which can lead to deterioration or abandonment if insurance is dropped, access is not maintained or launches left to revert back to woodlands.

Your membership contribution, participation and support of your local hang gliding club helps maintain these cherished sites for not only our use now, but for the new crop of pilots that ultimately will inherit them in the future.

So please....sign up once again so that we can keep the club viable, mountain sites open and our status as a USHGPA chapter in tact.  Your physical and financial support is vital to the continued success of the MHGA and the flying community it serves.

Keep the dream alive!
